Maritime Forces Pacific - Military Ship Sail and Lunch
Actual Sail time: 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Time Committment: 7:30 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Note: A shuttle bus will depart from the Harbour Towers Hotel at 7:45 a.m. Others may join the group at Esquimalt base at 8 a.m. Meet and park at the CANNEX parking lot.
No Fee – Sponsored by Department of National Defense. Pre-registration and photo identification is required.
Enjoy an exciting day on the waters of the west coast aboard the HMCS Regina. In addition to enjoying the scenic beauty, guests will have an opportunity to tour the ship, meet the crew and participate in the ship's manoevres. If you have a mobility concern, please contact us in advance to discuss your needs.
President's Welcoming Reception
7 - 10 p.m. Quarterdeck
Enjoy a casual wine and cheese reception in the beauty of the Quarterdeck. Reacquaint yourself with old friends - and perhaps make some new ones. RRU president Dr. Allan Cahoon looks forward to welcoming you back to campus. Faculty members and staff have also been invited to mingle and reconnect with alumni.
**Please note that the welcoming reception will start in the Quarterdeck at 7 p.m. and will carry on until 10 p.m. Those who have signed up for the wine tasting will make their way down to the castle at 7:30 p.m., with the rest remaining to visit and reminisce with friends.

The Royal Roads University Alumni Relations team invite you to join us for a fun beginning to exploring the world of wine. Learn how to approach a new wine for maximum enjoyment from a certified Sommelier, and what to look for when taking that first sip. We're looking forward to sharing what's new at Royal Roads University, and connecting with our Alumni over a fabulous glass of wine.

Saturday is the busiest day of Homecoming, designed to offer something for everyone. Saturday provides a forum to meet with friends, faculty and current students (future alumni) that will be on campus.
Tour: Royal Roads – Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow
9 - 10 a.m. and 10 - 11 a.m.
Join the Manager of Grounds and Gardens, David Rutherford, to connect with nature and learn about the history of campus buildings, review current building usage and discuss future campus development during this interactive tour.
Ex-Cadet Mix & Mingle and Boxed Lunch
11 a.m. - 1 p.m. (Mews / Mess Decks)
This is a chance for all ex-cadet classes to meet informally and to share a pint or two with members of the Vancouver Island Ex-Cadet Club. Bring photos, yearbooks and other memorabilia.
A boxed lunch can be ordered as well - please register online and be sure to select the delivery location as Mews / Mess Decks. Lunch will be delivered at

For those interested in attending the Robert Bateman presentation at 1:30 p.m. there will be plenty of time to walk over to the Quarterdeck afterwards.

Champagne Reception and Dinner Dance Gala
6 - 11 p.m.Not quite a Homecoming Ball - but just as special. Start your evening celebrations with a private champagne reception and then be formally piped into the Quarterdeck or Mews (dependent on numbers) for a special Gala Dinner. Guests will enjoy a full gourmet buffet, live musical entertainment and dancing. Conversation lounges will be available for those guests that prefer to enjoy a few quieter moments.

Stone Unveiling, Ceremonial Circle and Farewell Reception
10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Join us as we pay tribute to the past and reflect on the future with the unveiling of the commemorative stone which will be placed in perpetuity to honour the 2009 Homecoming. Led by the pipe and drum band, alumni will march the ceremonial circle from the front of the castle past the Grant Block. This Sunday ceremony is steeped in tradition and will continue, as in the past, to honour alumni with a sherry toast. The reception following the ceremony will include light refreshment (sweets and sandwiches) and provide an opportunity for farewells.
