Annual and Special Events hosted by the Foundation

The Royal Roads University Foundation hosts a number of events in efforts to honour our donors, celebrate project milestones and provide educational experiences with respect to the key themes of the Legacy Campaign.

Upcoming Special Events:

Earth Day 2010: Come and learn about RRU's sustainability initiatives, including the Robert Bateman Centre, as we celebrate Earth Day with the WestShore community on April 17th at the WestShore Centre.

15th Annual Mothers Day Paint In: May 9, 2010 at Royal Roads University. An exciting outdoor festival for the whole family.  Events include tours of donor funded projects such as the Greenhouse and Charlie's Trail, plus an outdoor market, kids activities, and a whole lot more! Click here for details

1st Annual Royal Roads University Gala: June 19, 2010 in the Castle. A black tie affair saluting Robert Bateman on the occasion of his 80th birthday. This event will bring together community leaders, RRU friends, and Bateman admirers from across Canada and beyond.

Annual Events:

President's Garden Party

Held annually in August, this event is hosted by President Allan Cahoon and welcomes all those who have kindly donated to the university. Guests enjoy afternoon tea on the Castle Terrace, complimentary garden tours and live music.

Green Drinks at Royal Roads

Held annually at Royal Roads in July, guests attending this event do not imbibe green alcohol as the name might suggest!

Simple and unstructured, Green Drinks is an international organization providing monthly networking events for people in the environmental field. It is a chance to chat, debate, connect and socialize over drinks with others passionate about the environment and sustainability.

Royal Roads is proud to host the Green Drinks July gathering, attracting the largest informal group of green professionals on Vancouver Island. This gathering includes a green marketplace, silent auction and sustainability challenge, raising funds for RRU's Roger Colwill Fund for the Environment.

Homecoming

Held annually in September, this alumni weekend is open to all alumni, faculty, staff and families of Royal Roads University and Royal Roads Naval and Military Colleges.

Guests renew acquaintances with old friends, makes new ones and just have fun! We invite you back to explore the natural beauty of the campus and Greater Victoria.
