Residence Application Information
Due to space limitations, admission to the University does not guarantee a place in residence. A learner must be accepted into a University program before being assigned a room. 
 

Applying
Learners can apply for housing through the Online Residency Application Form . Failure to fully complete the application form could delay your acceptance into residence. Please send one application only.

You will be notified of your room assignment 30 days prior to residency. Please do not call or email before hand as we can not provide you with any further information until the time noted above.

Housing Agreement
Please make sure you have read the Campus Housing Agreement before applying as sending in your application form with the appropriate acceptance noted means you accept the agreement and will abide by said agreement.

Payment for Residency Deadlines
Residency fees are posted to your learner account and are to be paid online within seven business days of notification of the posting. Unpaid fees can result in grades and/or transcripts being withheld until payment is received.

Cancellation & Refunds
Cancellation less than seven (7) business days prior to occupancy will result in a forfeit of residence fees. There are no refunds except in the case of a learner who withdraws completely from the University, in which case, the refund will be prorated minus the $30 administration fee.

Residency Fees & Rates 

    Administration Fee $30 (non refundable) 
    Linen Services $10 / week (optional) 
    Dorm Room Rate $30 / per day 
    En-suite Rate $45 / per day

Plus applicable GST and HST. All fees are subject to change.

Room Assignments
Our goal is to provide fair access to rooms for all RRU learners. Nevertheless, we give priority according to the following criteria:
  • Learners with disabilities have first choice.
Be sure you clearly indicated you have a disability on your application as well as attach a medical certificate as confirmation. (i.e. doctor's letter).
  • Learners who live outside the Greater Victoria Area.
If your permanent address lies outside the Greater Victoria Area (Victoria, Oak Bay, Saanich, Sidney, View Royal, Colwood, Langford, Metchosin, Sooke), you get preference over those who come from these areas. For those learners from outside the Greater Victoria Area (as defined above), you application is given priority according to the date we received it.
  • Learners who live in the Greater Victoria Area (as defined above).
For those learners living inside the Greater Victoria Area (as defined above), you application is given priority according to the date we received it.

Wait List
As applications usually exceed the accommodations available, a wait list is compiled. As vacancies occur, assignments are made from the wait list. This is also the procedure if you requested an en-suite but were assigned a dorm room. If an en-suite becomes available you will be notified and payment for the upgrade will be due 48 hours after notification or we will proceed to the next person on the list.
