Song length min: 1:30 minutes

Contest open to all Nuu chah nulth youth 19 and under

For the Native words or phrases NEEDED to be inthe composition, go to your elders, or go to www.firstvoices.com

First Place: $500

Second Place: $300

Third Place: $100

All entries may be part of a composite CD

'Voices of the Future' is a Nuu-chah-nulth Language and Music Competition hosted by the language staff of Ehattesaht Tribe and open to all Nuu-chah-nulth under the age of 19. The goal is to compose your own song about where you are from and who you are.

The song is a way for you to tell your story. It MUST include at least 25% Nuu-chah-nulth language content within the song. It can be ANY genre you decide, ranging from lullabies to hip-hop. As long as it is Isaak and is suitable for Grandma to listen to. The choices are to create your own instrumental and add your own vocals, or you can download one of three free instrumentals and add your own vocals.
